Healthy food means nutritious and balanced food, which helps to keep our body fit. In this modern computerized age where most of us live a sedentary lifestyle, we should be very much conscious of our food. Food should be such that it has more nutritious value and not fatty at the same time.

As we all know, obesity is the main cause for many diseases. Hence, in order to keep fit, we should take care of not gaining extravagant weight.

Given below is the recipe of plain Indian bread that is healthy and can be eaten will all vegetables.

 

 

Fulka Roti (Plain thin Indian bread)

Ingredients:
• 25 gm Wheat flour
• 10 gm Soya bean flour
• 5gm gram flour (besan)
• pinch of salt
• 2ml soya bean oil or 2ml olive oil
• Water to make dough.

Method:
Mix all the types of flour and salt in a deep plate or a bowl. Slowly pour water to make soft dough. Take the oil in hand and apply it on the dough surface equally, cover the vessel. Keep the dough for half an hour. Then again mix it well, make 5 parts of it, roll round with some dry wheat flour, make soft roti’s by baking on a Flat pan and roasting on gas, lastly cover all with a clean cloth and store it in a bowl.

If you are not over weight you can apply 1/2-teaspoon ghee on each roti. Ghee contains Vitamin ‘E’ and ‘A’, carbohydrates and fat, it gives lots of energy so not advisable to avoid totally. If you are on weight loss diet, when you reach your aimed weight start taking ghee in little quantity for such precious nutrition. In return you have to burn the calories by any exercise to maintain weight.

• Wheat flour contains ‘A’ vitamin.
• Wheat & Soya bean flour has more fibers and protein so they help to absorb cholesterol and give more energy.
• Gram flour has more protein and also helps to make it tastier.
• Ghee makes it tastier, and healthier with vitamins.
• 1 Roti of 8gm flour consist approximately 50(without ghee) to 70(with ghee) calories.
