Padmasana

Padmasana is also called Sthira-sukhasana. In this pose our chest expands fully and we breathe in fully and even breathe out also fully. So we shall always practice all pranayam, bandhha, and mudras, in this asana if possible.

  • Increases concentrating for dhyana (meditation)
  • Reduces fat on legs

Instructions:
Sit down and fold the right leg from knee and place right leg on the left thigh and vice-versa. The back should be completely straight. Place your hands on the knees in the gyana Mudra. (The first finger curled inward and the thumb covering the same). Breathe normally and concentrate on your normal breathing. This improves your concentration power and also helps digestion.

Remember not to perform this asana if there is any crack or fracture in the bone of feet or legs, or any disability in the leg.
